Seeing Red

I started using the Ginger Blossom Designer Paper and I guess it's starting to rub off on me. I've been hooked on red blossoms this weekend. If you look in my gallery over at SCS it's obvious. I'm posting my two favorite cards of the weekend now.

This was done for the Featured Stamper Challenge. I CASED the idea for the folded over paper and ribbon with the brad, I just loved the look of it and knew I needed to try it. This is a prime example of the perks to using double sided paper! I found it really hard to start creasing crooked so I used the score tool from the cutter kit with a ruler at the desired angle. For the blossom I colored the petals with a Blush Blossom marker and then added highlights of Guava with a blender pen. Finally the accents of Ruby Red with the blender pen and I tried to smooth them out. I coudnt resist adding the little crystals to the blossom, they were just too cute.

This is a Just Because card I made with a only once used Outline Stamp and my hoarded Basic Gray Infuse mat pack. I made it for a friend who I think is as big a fan of Basic Gray as myself. u used black embossing powder on the vibrant red paper for an instant eye catching bloom. I then used the coordinating papers from the mat pack to create a blend of patterns. The hardward piece was traced and then cut since I don't own that punch. I wanted to pop the sentiment so lucky for me the A Muse Just Becase stamp fit perfect in the Word Window punch.

Both cards are beautiful, but I really do like that top card with the folded back paper 'held back' with a bit of ribbon - nice touch.

Pretty cards! I love your use of the metal-edged tag in the first one.

Love your cards! I saw your post on the 'Blog Comment Thread' on SCS, so here I am. Great inspiration, but I wish we in the UK had the same catalog as the U.S. for Stampin' Up....not fair! If we did, I'd sign up as demo, too!

Very beautiful! I love the ginger blossom paper on your card and how you centered the flower in the tag ring.

I like the top card because of it's elegance. The bottom one just popped out at me. I like the huge flower.
