World Card Making Day - Chevron Craze

I've just put the kids to bed and I'm about to head to my craft room with a cocktail and a snicker doodle cookie for a night of card making! Since I haven't had a chance to photograph anything I've made today I'll share two of my favorite "rejects" from my last round of Paper Crafts Magazine submissions. I was lucky enough to have a card selected so I'm quite happy hanging onto these.

I made this chevron pattern with strips of scrap paper and the corner of my square punch. I used an extra piece of paper along the bottom to line them all up as I glued. It's a bit fussy with the punching and gluing but I love the over all effect! Papers from Basic Grey PB&J collection, Images from Papertrey Ink.

This one was made for an ombre category and I was quite thrilled with the effect I achieved on the chevron background. I used three colors of reds and corals, blending them into each other on the rubber. Both images are from Savvy Stamps.
