Big Pieces Birthday
I love waking up on Sunday and going to the computer to see who the featured stamper will be. I try to case something before I even head downstairs. I was lucky enough to do that this weekend.
This week's stamper is Cambria Turnbow who I've been a fan of for a long long time.
I have been wowed by her recent love of the sewing machine but knew the dust wouldn't leave mine just to case something. I decided to go back, way back to her very first upload. This was back when layers were important but matting wasnt the craze. I wanted to update this with my own spin for a masculine B-Day card.
I used Big Pieces and Little Pieces and stuck to the same three stamps using the same color assignment from big to small stamp. I had some trouble with the background stamp selection since this set looks so modern to me. I knew her weathered BG wasn't going to jive. So I thought a light pumpkin with Aidia Cloth would work good but I didn't want it to cover too much. I should have just gone for it because it came out uneven, but I'm ok with that. This was a fun and easy card. I just had to add the rik rak on the bottom because it was all looking too semetrical for me. Now I just need to hang on to this until Oct for my Dad't B-Day, lol.
