Retro Recipe Book

I took myself on a little B-Day shopping spree today at the local scrapbook store and fell in love with the new Cosmo Cricket line of designer papers. I didn't know what I would make with them but I knew I had to have them!

My DH bought me a Big Shot for my Birthday and I had to test it's cutting power next to the cuttlebug I already have. A thick piece of chipboard covered in this DP seemed like the perfect test and then the little book was born. The front and back are double covered chipboard and the inside is plain vanilla paper with DP as deviders. I'll be bringing this as the womens craft project at my DH's family reunion in August. It's perfect for a crafter at any skill level and practical since we'll do a recipe exchange.

The Big Shot took this thick piece of chipboard like a champ. I also like that it's a larger surface and I don't have to do the funny double plate thing for the extra long dies. However I do wish it had suction to hold it in place like the CB and will miss the compact storage option of the CB. Overall I'm very pleased with my new toy and know it's going to receive more attention than I gave my CuttleBug. I'm sure my Mom will be thrilled to have that little "green purse" make it's self comfortable in her house though.
