Today I'm posting a card I made for my Mom and today is her actual birthday! I played along in the Papertrey Ink blog hop challenge to use embroidery thread on your card. Nothing too crazy here since my crafting mojo is on vacation this week but I still think it's cute...even if predictable.
I stamped the flowers, colored them in with copics and then drew circles inside with a pencil. I pressed holes into the paper with the needle on a foam mat to help prevent too much bending. This made stitching a breeze. I also learned early on that you can't make the holes very close together since it will quickly become one larger hole. To help this I colored the centers yellow since quite a bit of white was showing...nice fake :)
All images and white paper by PTI, Designer paper is Urban Prairie by Basic Grey.
Thanks so much for dropping by and Happy Birthday Mom if you happen to see this!

Super clever, love all the white space too.

super cute stitching.
So very pretty!
Gorgeous! It looks so soft, you feel like rubbing it! ;-) Very, very nice!
Love the satin stitch in the centers of these sweet flowers!
Very cool! I don't think it's predictable at all. I'm stashing this one in my mental file.
Very cute!
Love the colors...
and the stitching makes it look so soft!
very pretty - i love the stitched flower centers!
Very cute. Great use of the floss.
Oh I think this is SO creative! I love how you made your own little layered "button" centers! That is one of my fave PTI images of all time, you've inspired me to try out this cute idea!!
Pretty flowers and of course the yellow centers are so cheerful!
So Pretty! Great way to use the floss instead of buttons for the centers of those flowers.
What a great use of the floss! It looks like it is a perfect center, not colored undernneath, you did a perfect job of hiding the white. I also love how you got the colors of the flowers to match the paper; that's a trick I am working on, lol!
Your mom is going to love her card, its gorgeous! I love your use of the floss, and your tips are great for those of us who want to try it out now ;) Awesome job!
Predictability doesn't matter when you end up with a lovely card. Hope your mom had a great birthday.
