Today I received "happy email" that a project of mine was picked up for the special issue of Go To Sketches for Card Makers from Paper Crafts Magazine which will be available on 8/9/11. The card that was picked is one I'm frankly not crazy about but that doesn't make me any less excited to be published! It's completely different from anything I'll be sharing. The good news is now I get to share the cards I made and LOVE with you...none of this waiting until August business.
This card has a vintage feel to it while still being CAS. I stamped the flower image onto the faux book paper and embossed in black and used a warm gray Copic marker to color in the image. Then you throw that puppy into the paper cutter and slice it to bits. Good thing I like puzzles because next it's time to re-assemble on the black mat which has been distressed. I had fun distressing all the edges on this card and turning up the edges. I'm really happy with the overall look of this one.
All images and supplies by Stampin' Up! except the marker & Kaiser black pearls.
I have at least 6 more "rejects" that I really love queued up to be shared here so stay tuned!

Beautiful elegant card! Congrats on the publication!
Absolutely amazing card!!!! Congrats on the pub!
I think that this is an awesome card! Love how you stamped and colored the flower right over the stamp background and the fact that you used a color that would allow the stamped background to show right through. Pretty!
beautiful card, love this idea, I saw this sketch and never would have thought of something like this!
