Non-Traditional Sympathy
The challenge of the week over at Papertrey Ink is for sympathy cards. I don't own a sympathy sentiment from PTI but it got me thinking. What is the message that you're really trying to send someone? To me this meant stating I was sorry about their loss and wanting them to know I'm there for them. I had the perfect sentiment for the later feeling.
I remember appreciating each and every card I received when my Dad passed away. There was an abundance of muted earth tone cards with flowers on them that looked like they were about to die as well. There were just one or two that had some color and helped brighten up a dark time and mood about the house. This is why I chose to use yellow and whimsical flower buttons and die cuts. I want this card to stand out in someones time of need to draw attention to the fact that I'm here for them if they need me.
Vanilla paper, die cut, and sentiment from Papertrey Ink. Designer Paper from October Afternoon thrift shop line.

Hopefully the brighter colors would invoke the feeling that things will get better- I like it!
Oops - I think I accidentally deleted the first time. Great job; it's a perfect balance of colour and cheerfulness and CAS for a sympathy card. Well done!
Very nice card and it gets the message across very tastefully.
Very nice! Cards like this can be in happy colors as well! Your card shows it, it's pretty and uplifting!!
Hugs, Wendy
I just love this, Sarah! It's sweet yet understated, just perfect for the occasion! :)
I like your card! It is sunny and inviting to put a small smile on the recipient's face.
I think this is a wonderful card and I know we would have loved to receive something like this when my husband's father died recently. A little shot of "happy" is just what you need in a time like that!
Beautiful. Congrats on the Moxie shout out!
This is the kind of sympathy card I would appreciate. Congrats on your shoutout at MFW!
