Glazed & Confused

My splurge purchase from Impress last week was two sets of Sakura pens. I bought the Glaze and Souffle pens in assortment packs for $19.95 each. This isn't a bank breaking splurge but more of a splurge in excess because what do I need more pens for? I haven't found a time I needed to use the Souffle pens yet and I think that mostly due to the soft colors I have. I tend to lean more towards earthy colors than soft pastels.

The clear winner in my book has to be the Glaze Pens. Its like having Crystal Effects (aka Crystal Meth by some of my stamping friends) in a pen. I love how it adds dimention and shine in just a touch of the pen without making the colors run. I'm inthe same boat with colors for this pack with two exceptions - Black and Clear. If you can find them, buy just these two colors on their own to start. The black is awesome for accentuating stamped lines and the clear enhances anything!

On this simple card the Glaze makes it something special. It's hard to capture the shine and textile feel of the berries & heart in a photo but in person it's really special. I just love running my finger over the berries.

I can't wait to play with this more. I can tell it's going to be a frequent guest on my stamping table instead of hanging out in the drawer.
