I'm so excited about getting together with my stampin friends tonight for a shoebox swap! I have been having fun with the Unity Flower Parade set so I decided to use it since there are three, yes 3!, Unity Design Team members coming. Talk about pressure, lol! We're gathering at Pushpa's house and I'll get to see Linsey, Maren, and AJ woo who! I think amybe even a few other new faces too.
I love Pomegranate and Pumpkin together, it looks like hot summer to me. The A Muse "sending you sunshine" just felt like the right sentiment for this card. I stamped the large flower on the panel with a mask for the bottom portion. Then came back in with the pumpkin marker to color in the edges of the flower. The small flower was punched out with a 1" circle punch and then nested in the 1 1/4" punch space on the main panel. For the finishing touch I added a little dew drop to the center of the flower. This is a simple card that should work pretty well for a swap.
The other project I wanted to show was the card and wrapped box for my friend Margaret. I used the bead duos from stampin' Up! on their sticky cut letters for the M. That really takes center stage so I kept the rest of the card simple. I was disappointed so little of the DP showed so I decided to pop the card in a clear envelope and use the scrap of the sheet to wrap her gift. It was so easy and looks so matchy matchy! This was in honor of finishing her Masters in Physics from the University of Washington. Yes, she'll brilliant and a rockin' scrapbooker too! In the box were "happy earings" which were the molecule for serotonin. I found these on Esty and knew I had to get them for her!

Cute and fun cards!
Hope you guys have a fab time at your swap! :)
Love that Unity card, so bright and fun! Very cool how you did it around that circle punched image too! Lucky you being close to the girls and getting to hang! lol! Have fun!
My favorite is the B/W set, but I totally agree that Hot Pink and Orange make me want to drink large quantities of gin and tonic.
OOOOh, I love the beads with the sticky letters!
